We invite all "Locavores" to come to the winery and enjoy a mouth-watering local culinary experience unique to the Pacific Northwest!  Tami Parr author of "Artisan Cheese of the Pacific Northwest" will be sharing her extensive "Cheese" knowledge and hosting a discussion with the cheesemakers and our winemaker Benoit. Guests will sample handmade cheeses from 3 different local creameries and fresh bread all grown and produced here on the Olympic Peninsula. The cheese and bread will be served with specially paired Olympic Cellars wines.

Tami Parr is the writer behind the Pacific Northwest Cheese Project, a blog devoted to all things artisan cheese. She's also the author of Artisan Cheese of the Pacific Northwest.

Tami will be on site from Saturday from  11-3:30pm and will speak and hold general discussion at
11:30am, 1pm & 3pm

Tami Parr is a lawyer turned freelance writer and cheese nerd - not necessarily in that order.

Her family originally hails from a small farming community in southern Wisconsin.  "In Wisconsin cheese is a way of life so perhaps some of my passion about cheese came from there. Mostly I'm fascinated by cheese as a living, breathing food and a complex intersection of animal, land and craft. This is what I'm exploring when I think about, taste and write about cheese."

Tami is the author of Artisan Cheese of the Pacific Northwest, a comprehensive guide to cheesemakers and the cheeses of the region. The book grew out of her website, Pacific Northwest Cheese Project, where she's been writing about cheese for the past six years. She's also the author of numerous articles in magazines in newspapers about cheese and making cheese. Among her other cheese adventures, she served as a judge at the 2006 American Cheese Society competition, and is the former president of the Oregon Cheese Guild.
